IT’S the sort of headline Hearts fans would always have feared from the man they dubbed Mad Vlad – Vladimir Romanov arrested drunk in America taking pictures of the secretary of State.

Last reports since Romanov departed the Tynecastle club had him driving a taxi in Russia – but yesterday news broke that Vladimir Romanov had been arrested in America for being drunk and disorderly outside the home of John Kerry. Thankfully, Mad Vlad of Gorgie is still at large – this was a 29-year-old from Boston.

Tiger’s too much of a predator for residents

With the Open championships being held at Muirfield, the usually quiet area has become a hot-spot for celebrities.

Former world No.1 Tiger Woods and US Open winner Graeme McDowell have already been spotted around Gullane. But locals have said there is more interested in spotting Rory McIlroy or American Bubba Watson than Tiger Woods.

As one local lady said: “I’ve no respect for the man. I’m really not interested in seeing him at all.”
