Talk of the Town: Nicole learns who the real stars are

SHE is one of Hollywood’s screen goddesses but now she has been well and truly snubbed at a major city attraction.

Superstar Nicole Kidman visited Edinburgh Zoo with daughters Sunday Rose and Faith yesterday. The highlight of the trip? An encounter with Tian Tian and Yang Guang, of course.

“Nicole and her family snuck in as regular visitors and, following their visit to see the pandas, enjoyed another couple of hours wandering around Edinburgh Zoo in the lovely sunshine,” said a zoo spokeswoman.

Except it seems the furry twosome weren’t playing ball and remained fast asleep despite their audience with one of the leading actresses of her age.

Clearly not everything in this world is celebrity-obsessed.

Making headlines for all the wrong reasons

PAT Fenlon’s team felt they’d fallen victim to a major error in the Scottish Cup final against their fiercest rivals . . . but then they weren’t the only ones with red faces at Hampden.

Editors of the official SFA programme were guilty of a glaring typo in a bold headline in which they spelt the Hibs manager’s name incorrectly.

“Fate, Fenton and Finals,” it read, carelessly substituting the ‘L’ for a ‘T’.

SFA bods will be sure to deploy the spellchecker ahead of the next showpiece final. If only “Fenton’s” task was so straightforward.

High-fryers head to Games

IT’S long been the cruel question designed to mock the career credentials of one not so high-flying.

But for 12 lucky Capital boys and girls, asking “Do you want fries with that?” won’t seem in the slightest bit demeaning from behind the counter at McDonald’s giant Olympic restaurant.

More than 2000 McDonald’s brightest and best have come through rigorous tests to earn their spot at the Games. They’ll be going for golden arches this summer.

Popcorn or potato? You pick

MOVIE tie-ins come in all shapes and sizes these days and the marketing push has already started for one of this summer’s predicted hits.

Disney film Brave, which premieres in Edinburgh and stars the likes of Billy Connolly and Kelly Macdonald in animated form, has seen food firm Scotty Brand release a new range on its behalf.

The range features potatoes, carrots, strawberries and raspberries.

Hmmm . . . we reckon film fans will stick to hot dogs and popcorn.
