Talk of the Town: Darts amateur takes aim at the big league
HE's known locally as "The Master" and now a city darts champ will be able to put his nickname to the test, after winning the chance to take on some of the games' best.
Edinburgh player Ryan "The Master" Murray, 22, has qualified for the PDC UK Darts Open after winning a regional event at Rileys, Meadowbank.
Ryan is one of 32 amateurs going into the draw to face the top 96 professional darts players from the UK order of merit.
"I am just looking forward to going there and enjoying it," he said. "It's my first time so getting to the QV rounds would be brilliant."
Virtual fish suppers get tastier the more you send
IT is the most traditional British takeaway, but now the humble fish supper has moved into the digital age.
The Three Harbours Seafood Festival has created a Facebook app allowing users to send their friends a fish supper.
The more suppers they send, the tastier the suppers get, as users unlock higher levels.
The only problem is that none of the food is actually real, but everyone who reaches the top level of a lobster supper will be entered into a prize draw to attend a seafood banquet.
The game can be accessed at www.3harbours.co.uk.
Join singer on charity walk
HE toured the world with Marillion but admits when it comes to exploring his home country he's a Fish out of water.
The Dalkeith-born singer, real name Derek Dick, is recruiting fellow walkers to join him on 22 May for a charity walk along the West Highland Way for Cancer Research.
"The trip will be well planned and supported and we will be taking every precaution to ensure a safe journey," said Fish.

Put your feet in line of fire
EDINBURGH-based animal welfare charity Advocates for Animals is on the lookout for brave volunteers to hotfoot it to the Three Sisters pub on 8 June and take part in its first ever fundraising firewalk.
The charity, which was established in Edinburgh in 1911, is looking for 30 intrepid animal lovers to take up the challenge.
"This is our first firewalk, and we're so excited to be hosting such a remarkable and challenging event," said Helna Gibney, fundraiser at Advocates for Animals. "I myself will be doing the firewalk – I'm thrilled and I can't wait. To explore nature in this way in order to raise funds for our ongoing work is quite moving."
To take part in the firewalk or find out more, visit www.onekind.org.uk or text FIRE to 07716 345 243.
