Taliban 'have lost stronghold'
A PAKISTANI general says troops have defeated Taliban militants in one of their strongholds overlooking the Afghan border.
Major General Tariq Khan told reporters who were escorted to the remote Bajur region by the military today that a drop in militant activity in the Bajur region is not simply seasonal.
Khan said the militants have "lost" after more than a year of fighting and that the military now controls the roads.
