T in the Park sold out after 60 minute rush for tickets
THE last remaining tickets for this year's T in the Park music festival sold out in less than 60 minutes today.
Earlier in the week, festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent's Lager announced a host of acts that will perform at the festival, including headliners Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys.
Other bands to appear at the July festival, held at Balado near Kinross, include Brit Award winners Jessie J, Tinie Tempah and Plan B, as well as soul legend Tom Jones, who will be making his first appearance at the event.
Tickets went on sale at 9am this morning and were completely sold out within an hour.
Geoff Ellis, festival director for DF Concerts, said: "We are delighted to have an exceptionally strong line-up for 2011 but you can't be complacent, it's still as momentous for us to sell out now as it was the first time around and we're thrilled.
"It's great to know 85,000 music lovers think we've made the right choices and that they are as excited about the gates opening on July 8th as we are."
Other artists that will be joining the 48 acts already announced will be revealed at a later date.
The festival will take place across the weekend of July 8-10.
