T drug boy pays pocket
A SCHOOLBOY has been ordered to hand over his pocket money to pay a fine after he was caught with drugs at T in the Park.
Keir Watson, 16, from Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, was ordered to pay the 20 a week he gets from his parents after admitting having drugs at the Kinross-shire festival.
Watson was caught with 77 Benzylpiperazine tablets by police monitoring a group of his friends behaving suspiciously in the crowd on 9 July.
Perth Sheriff Court was told the class C tablets - worth 200 - were being sold as other drugs such as Ecstasy or Bubbles.
Co-accused James Rowlands, 27, also from Motherwell, and John Moore, 25, from Cleland, admitted possessing cocaine.
Solicitor Louise Gillies, defending, said: "Mr Watson resides with his father and is on his school holidays. This is the first time he has come to the attention of the police.
"He gets 20 a week pocket money and that can be paid towards a financial penalty. This is the first time he has purchased drugs."
Sheriff Michael Fletcher fined Watson 150 and ordered him to pay 20 a week to the fine. Rowlands was fined 300, while Moore was fined 200.
