T in the Park line-up: Franz Ferdinand among raft of additions to Balado bill

THE organisers of T in the Park, Scotland's largest music festival, today launched their line-up for 2009 with additions including Scottish band Franz Ferdinand and London popstar Lily Allen.

It had previously been announced that Blur, Kings of Leon, the Killers and Snow Patrol would headline the three-day event, which takes place at Balado near Kinross from the 10th to the 12th July.

Today's announcement also sees newly reformed ska favourites The Specials, Britpop veterans James and Manic Street Preachers, and more contemporary acts like Bloc Party, Elbow and Keane added to the bill.

Tickets for the festival go on sale on Friday at 9am.
