Swine flu blow to nurses' AGM
THE Royal College of Nursing has cancelled plans to hold its annual general meeting in Edinburgh because of swine flu.
More than 200 delegates were due to attend the two-day gathering in the Capital in October.
But now a scaled-down meeting will take place in London instead.
SNP Lothians MSP Shirley-Anne Somerville said it was an understandable decision.
She said: "I would very much expect this is a one-off. Nurses are going to have to cope with swine flu first-hand, but there is no reason why other organisations should cancel coming to Edinburgh."
