Police probe into munitions blast

CYPRUS has launched a criminal investigation into the cause of a massive blast at a munitions dump that killed 12 people and destroyed the island's largest power station early on Monday morning.

Victims' relatives, and official documents, claim army officers had been concerned at the haphazard storage of a dangerous cargo of confiscated Iranian munitions that blew up in the base.
