Survival of the fittest in city challenge
AN EXTREME fitness event is set to take place in the Capital later this year.
The 10km event will see up to 1,500 runners taking part in a course littered with obstacles and challenges.
The Men's Health Survival of the Fittest will feature various challenges every kilometre, in addition to the long-distance run.
Among the obstacles will be a huge wall of hay bales, an army assault course and artificial features as part of an "urban jungle".
At the end of the run will be an eight feet high wall to scale.
Full details of the route are yet to be released, but it is thought the run will take in Princes Street Gardens, the Royal Mile and parts of the Old Town.
Men's Health marketing director Claire Matthews said: "We want to promote the benefits of exercise, keeping a healthy body and mind and prove that you can have a ton of fun along the way."
The event will take place on 15 October.
