Survey shows force statistics
NEARLY 50 officers with Lothian and Borders Police have classified themselves as lesbian, gay or bisexual in a force survey.
A total of 49 officers self-classified themselves as lesbian, gay or bisexual as of March 31 - 1.69 per cent of the force's 3025 officers.
The survey also found 78 officers classified themselves as disabled. Forty three officers classified themselves as belonging to an ethnic background other than white, and 58 said they had religions or beliefs other than Church of Scotland, Roman Catholic or Other Christian.
Among the 1257 police staff members, 58 said they were lesbian, gay or bisexual. Fifty eight staff members classified themselves as disabled. A dozen staff said they belonged to ethnic minorities and 15 to non-Christian religions.
