Support for zone experts
BUSINESS leaders have backed plans by the city council to spend £400,000 on regeneration experts to promote development in four key areas of the city.
The Evening News revealed earlier this week that four "zone managers" have been recruited on two-year contracts at 50,000 a year to drive development at the Waterfront, city centre, west and south-east.
And Ron Hewitt, chief executive of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, said it would be money well spent. He said: "If you attract one major investment to the city you can recoup that overnight. To continue to attract investors to this city we need to do just this kind of work."
