Superbug fight shows results

SUPERBUG cases in the Lothians are continuing to fall, latest figures have revealed.

Cases of both C.diff and MRSA are noticeably dropping from month to month, mirroring a similar national trend.

Statistics released by Health Protection Scotland show that in the three months up to the end of June there were 252 C.diff cases in Lothians hospitals, a fall from the previous quarter, while MRSA also tumbled.

Director of public health Dr Alison McCallum said: "There is no magic bullet as such."
