Sun shines on community plots in Leith
A NEW community garden project giving residents the chance to grow their own fruit in a tenement square is set to be launched in Leith.
The Edinburgh Community Backgreen Association will officially open the Sunshine on Leith Community Plots site, off Dickson Street, between 1pm and 2pm today.
Greig Robertson, project manager at the Edinburgh Community Backgreens Association, said: "The project has been a positive experience. We hope to establish more community plots throughout the city, and go some way to helping out the 2,500 folk who are on Edinburgh's allotment waiting list."
