Another passenger of the same vehicle remains in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Mr Allan’s partner Charlene Tweed said she was devastated by the loss of the 24-year-old father-of-three.

She said: “Sean was a loving father to his three children Eilidh, Sean and Mason, as well as his step-daughter Sophie, playing a big part in her life for a number of years.

“He was also a wonderful partner and I am utterly destroyed by his death.

“I am struggling to find the words to describe my grief and would ask that our family be left alone to grieve and come to terms with our devastating loss.”

Tributes also flooded in for Kyle Thomson on social media. His friend Euan Forsyth said: “Lost a best mate today, words can’t describe the sadness. But the happy funny memories are the ones ill remember. RIP Kyle Thomson you were one of the good guys!”

Police are investigating the full circumstances of Friday night’s incident and road policing officers are urging any witnesses to come forward.
