Students will be moo-ved

STUDENTS at a city college have started work on their very own fibreglass cow in preparation for the Evening News-backed CowParade.

While most of the herd of 150 will be painted by professional artists, Telford's cow, called Meta-moo-phisis, is being painted by second year HND Public Art students as part of their coursework.

The Edinburgh CowParade sees city landmarks, famous streets and public parks get their own cow, most of which are decorated by celebrities and artists.

But Telford's students have designed Meta-moo-phisis to tell the story of Telford's move from old to new and the design extends beyond a simple paint job to include clay, wires and even car body filler.

Neil Manning, course lecturer said: "Our cow is being designed and constructed as a showcase of the skills and talents of Telford's students."
