Student takes brain on tour

A PSYCHOLOGY student from the Capital is touring UK schools to show children how the brain works.

Edinburgh University PhD student Joanna Brooks, 30, will spend the next fortnight on her "brainology tour".

The workshops aim to inform youngsters about diseases such as Alzheimer's, as well as boost their understanding of memory and movement.

She was able to conduct the tour thanks to a 500 award from the Wellcome Trust.
