Statue honour for Iraqi journalist who threw shoe at Bush
A SOFA-SIZED shoe statue was unveiled yesterday in Tikrit, hometown of Saddam Hussein, in honour of Muntadhar al-Zeidi, the Iraqi journalist who hurled his footwear at former US president George Bush during a news conference in Baghdad last month.
Artist Laith al-Amari described his fibreglass-and-copper work as a homage to the Iraqi people.
