Star treated for drug addiction

HOLLYWOOD star Burt Reynolds has been released from a drug rehabilitation centre where he was being treated for an addiction to painkillers.

The 73-year-old star of Smokey and the Bandit and Boogie Nights began struggling after recent back surgery and "realised that he was in the prison of prescription pain pills", his manager said.
