Star to Pippin to city cinema
LORD of the Rings star Billy Boyd is set to appear at a city cinema as part of a showcase of Canadian films being held next month.
The Edinburgh International Film Festival is joining forces with the Filmhouse, on Lothian Road, and the Canadian Film Circuit to screen six new features, including English and French-speaking movies.
Directors Guy Bennett and Sturla Gunnarson and actress Sonja Bennett are all confirmed to appear at the January 10-16 showcase.
Boyd, who played Pippin in the fantasy blockbusters, has agreed to headline a tour of Scottish short films set to be shown in Canada in the next few years. It is hoped the Scots actor will be at the Filmhouse to promote the tour in January.
