Sport bonanza set to descend on Links
A FESTIVAL of sport is set to descend on Leith Links as part of a project to keep kids healthy.
Run by Active Schools Edinburgh, the three-hour event will feature a range of heart-pumping sports including cricket, rugby, cycling, BMX riding and golf among others.
Friday's bonanza marks the third consecutive year the event has taken place with more than 1000 people attending the 2009 showpiece.
"(It] will aim to provide information regarding the Active Schools programme, what we do, how we do it and who we do it with," said a spokesperson.
"All key partners will be in attendance, including City of Edinburgh Council sports development officers, national governing bodies of sport, Edinburgh Leisure, local community clubs, sports coaches and volunteers."
Activities will cater for all abilities and will be delivered on a drop-in basis.
The afternoon of sport will run from 1pm-4pm and is free to all nursery, primary school children and their families.
