South Sub's making tracks to parliament
LOTHIANS MSP Gavin Brown has called for the return of Edinburgh's South Sub to be debated in the Scottish Parliament.
A motion by the Tory MSP is currently pending members' business and if chosen for debate would be led by Mr Brown with a minister responding for the Scottish Government.
He said: "It is important that the reopening of the South Sub railway is kept on the agenda and is allowed a chance to be debated in Parliament.
"I'm delighted that my motion gathered cross-party support and hopefully the topic will be chosen for members' debate."
Officials are currently carrying out a study into the possibility of running hybrid tram-trains on part of the South Sub route from Newcraighall to Haymarket, where they would transfer to the city's new tram line out to Edinburgh Park.
