Some loved it, others hated it – everyone had their own take on the wintry weather that hit the Capital
IT MAY have divided opinion, but there's no doubt everyone was talking about it.
Edinburgh shivered under a blanket of snow this week and forecasters confirmed it is one of the coldest Februarys on record. Temperatures dropped as low as -7C, with the average for the month set to be below zero for the first time in a decade.
The Met Office said the low temperatures are predicted to last for several weeks. It will only be a few degrees above zero today with rain and sleet predicted.
Freezing conditions caused travel chaos for some, but others made the most of the wintry weather. Dozens of readers sent in pictures of people walking, sledging, and playing in the snow.
Frolickers built giant snowmen in Holyrood Park, Calton Hill was a popular place to admire the view or take a toboggan ride, and families took a snowy walk along Portobello Promenade.
