Soldier faces death charge

A BRITISH soldier who is suspected of fatally shooting a Fijian comrade in the head with a gun that he did not believe was loaded has been charged with manslaughter, it was confirmed yesterday.

The Ministry of Defence said that Rifleman Aaron Kendrick, of 4 Rifles, was charged over the death of Rifleman Edward Vakabua, 23, at the main British base in Basra, Iraq, on 6 July last year.
