Soggy solstice

A TURNOUT of more than 30,000 Summer Solstice revellers braved the rain and gathered at Stonehenge yesterday to watch dawn break on the longest day of the year.

The solstice annually attracts an eclectic mix – Druids, hippies, sun worshippers and those simply curious to experience the ancient festival.

The soggy conditions obscured the sunrise, but failed to discourage the biggest turnout in five years.

There were just 15 arrests overnight for minor public disorder, Wiltshire police said.
