Soccer project scores funds
A FOOTBALL project for young people in Edinburgh has been handed a cash boost.
The Monday Night Super League – an initiative for 16 to 22-year-olds, has been given a 2000 donation by National Grid property.
The weekly event is aimed at improving the health and fitness of people in that age group and easing tensions between young people from different parts of north Edinburgh.
The scheme has been so successful it has been copied in West Lothian and Glasgow.
Organiser Kenny Cameron said the money would ease a lot of financial burdens on the organisation and allow it to focus on other things.
