SNP races to big poll lead
THE SNP has surged far ahead of Labour in the election race according to a new poll.
The Ipsos Mori poll showed the nationalists well in the lead in both the constituency and regional vote.
In the constituency vote the SNP was leading with 45 per cent, with Labour on 34 per cent, the Tories ten per cent and the Lib Dems nine per cent. The SNP recorded 42 per cent in the regional vote while Labour were on 32 per cent, the Tories on ten per cent, Lib Dems eight per cent and Greens six per cent.
According to a projected seat breakdown by Strathclyde University, it would give the SNP 61 seats in the new parliament.
