SNP minister 'to hold talks with Calman'
A SCOTTISH Government minister has offered to hold talks with the man heading a review of devolution.
Mike Russell, the constitution minister, has written to Sir Kenneth Calman, the chairman of the Calman Commission, and they are expected to hold a meeting next month.
However, a spokesman for Mr Russell insisted the move did not represent a softening in the SNP administration's attitude to the commission – which is not considering independence as part of its remit.
And he stressed the minister would not be giving evidence to the commission, but would instead provide Sir Kenneth with details of the government's "national conversation" on Scotland's constitutional future.
