Six possible swine flu cases in the Lothians
SIX possible cases of swine flu in the Lothians are among 27 being investigated nationwide, according to the latest figures.
Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon confirmed the latest details in a statement to parliament.
Ms Sturgeon said the number of potential cases remained low and that the focus continued to be on containing the virus and minimising further spread.
She also revealed that a "probable" case in the Grampian region which emerged on Tuesday had tested negative.
Scotland still has four confirmed cases, including one of person-to-person contact.
Ms Sturgeon also gave a regional breakdown of the 27 possible cases – Borders has one, Fife three, Forth Valley four, Grampian two, Greater Glasgow and Clyde five, Highland two, Lanarkshire two, Lothian six and Tayside two.
All cases are being treated and investigated on a precautionary basis, she said.
