Six hurt in crash between police car and ambulance
FOUR police officers and two paramedics were taken to hospital today after a crash between a police car and an ambulance.
Two officers had to be cut free from their car following the accident in the Highlands.
One of them was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness while the other was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Two others, described as walking wounded, were driven to hospital in Inverness.
The two ambulance crew members were taken to hospital in Aberdeen.
The police officers were from Northern Constabulary although the accident happened on the A939 Tomintoul to Ballindalloch road, Moray, in the Grampian Police area.
The injuries suffered by those involved were not thought to be life threatening.
A Grampian Police spokesman said "A police car from the Northern Constabulary area was in collision with an ambulance around 10.40am this morning.
"There were four police officers in the car and two ambulance service personnel in the ambulance.
"Grampian Police officers are working with our colleagues in Northern to establish exactly what happened."
