Charity wants volunteers to
become ‘voices for nature’

A BIRD conservation charity is looking to recruit a team of volunteers to create a “voice for nature”.

RSPB Scotland wants “campaign champions” to spread positive messages about environmental issues.

Philippa Faulkner, RSPB Scotland campaigns co-ordinator, said: “Campaigning is a huge part of the RSPB’s history – in fact the first of many RSPB victories to better protect
wildlife was a campaign to counter the barbaric trade in birds’ feathers for women’s hats.

“Campaign champions can play a key role in helping us help nature. Of course, our campaigns team will be there every step of the way offering support, advice and training to anyone interested in taking part.”

A recruitment event will take place at St Augustine’s Church, George IV Bridge, on Saturday from 2pm to 5.30pm.
