Shutter closes on Klick stores
ALL the Klick Photopoint stores in the Lothians are to close after administrators failed to find a buyer for them.
Administrator KPMG managed to sell 187 of the stores, owned by the Bowie Castlebank Group, to shoe repair and key-cutting firm Timpson.
But it has confirmed that none of the Lothians stores has been included in the deal, meaning they will now close.
The company had several stores in Edinburgh including at Morningside, Corstorphine, Stockbridge and Leith – as well as in Dalkeith, Musselburgh and Livingston.
None of the stores that are to stay open are in Scotland. Timpson's swoop for 187 stores will save 545 jobs, although there will be hefty job losses in Scotland.
Commenting on the closure of Scottish branches, Blair Nimmo, head of restructuring for KPMG in Scotland, said: "Virtually all of the Scottish stores comprised both Klick photo processing and Munro dry cleaning operations."
