Shops say no to Vodafone
NEWSAGENTS in Edinburgh are set to join a nationwide boycott of Vodafone mobile phone top-ups after the firm slashed the commission received by retailers by more than a quarter.
Vodafone announced the commission for selling top-up time over the counter has been cut to 3.5 per cent, down from 4.5 per cent two weeks ago.
Slateford Road retailer Abdul Quadar, Edinburgh spokesman for the National Federation of Retail Newsagents, said many of his 263 members had already agreed to support the boycott.
He added: "Retailers will refuse to sell Vodafone top-up vouchers from Friday until Sunday."
