Shock tactics are right
Rape Crisis Scotland is on the right track in its latest campaign (your report, 16 October). It needs to break down the current social constructs of rape. Women should not be blamed for being raped by acting flirtatiously, wearing revealing clothes or being under the influence – it is a ridiculous presumption that this is a free invitation for sex.
Hopefully, the shock tactic from this campaign will at least get people talking and, as a consequence, increase the somewhat prehistoric opinion of rape and its victims.
