A SEVENTH person in the Lothians has died from swine flu, the Scottish Government has confirmed.

The adult, treated by NHS Lothian, had underlying health problems.

It is the first H1N1 death locally in 2010, and the area continues to experience a lower rate of the infection than most other parts of the country.

Health secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "My sympathies are with the patient's friends and family at this sad time."
