Sentence is delayed on rapist twin
Sentencing of a serial sex attacker caught by his twin brother's DNA was delayed yesterday.
Kevan McDonald was due to be sentenced for two rapes and two attempted rapes of four women in Renfrewshire last year.
McDonald, 34, who has admitted the crimes, was caught when DNA evidence on his victims matched the profile of his identical twin brother.
McDonald raped a woman on a river footpath in Paisley on 3 April and a second woman on a bicycle track in Elderslie on 16 June.
He also pleaded guilty to attacking one woman in Renfrew on 27 May and another in a lane near a leisure centre in Paisley on 16 June, both with intent to rape.
McDonald also admitted stealing a handbag and mobile phone on 27 May and stealing a camera, mobile phone and purse on 16 June.
At the High Court in Glasgow yesterday, judge Lord Turnbull adjourned sentencing until 8 October to allow for the preparation of reports.
Judge Lord Turnbull extended the interim compulsion order detaining McDonald in the State Hospital at Carstairs until that time.
