I AGREE with Angela Innes’s comments (Letters, 3 May) on what the Rev David Robertson has said about the television series Rev. It is not meant to be a documentary; it is a comedy and the people and situations depicted in it are fictitious.
I do not understand why some Christians take everything so seriously. The general public impression that religion and humour are not compatible is probably a factor in people drifting away from religion. Why not just relax and see the funny side?
I speak as a member of the Church of Scotland who likes Monty Python’s The Life of Brian and Rikki Fulton’s Rev I M Jolly character.
