Sean Connery 'forced son Jason to work'
HOLLYWOOD legend Sir Sean Connery cut his son off from his wealth and forced him to get a job, his former wife has revealed.
According to Diane Cilento, Connery told son Jason – who is now an actor and film director – that he would not get a penny of his superstar fortune.
Instead, the Edinburgh-born former 007 actor told his only child to pursue his own career to ensure he had his own money.
In her autobiography My Nine Lives, Cilento claims Jason is a very devoted son and forged a successful career of his own after struggling financially in the 1980s with handouts from friends.
And Cilento – who was married to Connery for 11 years – says that after their divorce in 1973 "it was agreed that Sean would sell the house and I would get half the money for it but that was all I could get, nothing more – I knew only too well about his money hang-ups."
