Sealife centre adopts lonely cormorant

A LONELY cormorant has been adopted by a sealife centre after losing its lifelong partner.

Staff at Deep Sea World have adopted the huge bird since he lost his mate in December.

His presence has become an unexpected tourist attraction as he dives off rocks under the Forth Bridge to catch fish.

Some have spotted the bird submerged in the North Queensferry lagoon for minutes at a time.

Worried for the solitary bird's wellbeing, the zoological team at the centre have taken to leaving fishy treats out for him.

Deep Sea World's Chris Rowe said: "We're all very much hoping that Cameron will eventually find a new mate but until then we've decided to keep an eye out for him."
