The search for a missing sea angler will not be resumed today.
The man disappeared at the weekend while night fishing from rocks on the Aberdeenshire coast at Tangle-Ha, north of St Cyrus.
Coastguard teams had been scouring the shoreline since he was reported missing by another angler at about 3am yesterday morning, but no trace of him has so far been found.
It was not clear whether the operation would resume today, but an Aberdeen coastguard spokeswoman said: “There are no planned searches at the moment today.”
The Rescue Bond 1 helicopter and Montrose lifeboat were involved in the search operation.
Conditions were yesterday described as “exceedingly rough”, with wind gusting force 4 (13-17mph) and teams having to contend with a large sea swell of two to three metres.
