Youth jumps out of dock at at Livingston Sheriff Court

A TEENAGER detained for assault made a dramatic bid for freedom by vaulting out of the dock.

Conor Goldie was rugby tackled to the floor by a court official and police officer as he sprinted towards the exit at Livingston Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Grahame Fleming QC was ushered from the bench as security guards came up from the cells to pin down the 18-year-old.

Goldie and co-accused Aiden Keenan, 18, of Whitburn, were appearing for sentence yesterday after both pleading guilty to repeatedly punching Scott Paton on the head and repeatedly kicking him on the body.

Sheriff Fleming sentenced Keenan to a year’s detention and told Goldie that he had taken the remand period into account and sentenced him to 225 days.
