Youth hurt in sledge crash

A TEENAGER who plunged 150ft down an embankment at Blackford Hill while sledging escaped with just a broken leg.

The 16-year-old was playing in the snow when his sledge ran out of control.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue said crews were unable to access the hill in their appliances and had to attend to the incident on foot.

The teenager was brought down using line rescue equipment
