Young boy dies after collapsing at Aberdeen lesiure centre
A five-year-old boy has died in hospital after collapsing at a community leisure centre today.
The young boy took ill at the Bettridge Centre in Newtonhill, Aberdeenshire, at around 4pm today. He was taken to the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital after the incident, but died a short time after.
A spokesman for Grampian Police confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and that a full investigation would be carried out, with a report being sent to the procurator fiscal.
He added: “The child’s parents are aware and officers are with them at this difficult time.”
