Writer hits at council cuts

A CITY crime writer is spearheading a campaign to force a council into a U-turn after it announced plans to close almost half its libraries.

Tony Black, author of the Capital-based Gus Dury series, condemned Moray Council’s decision to shut seven of 15 libraries and cut all of its art development funding.

Several other well-known writers – including Mark Billingham and Stuart MacBride – have added their voices to his campaign.
