Woman rescued from car after hitting parked vehicle
The car flipped over onto its roof
A WOMAN has been rescued from her car after it hit a parked vehicle and spun onto its roof in busy traffic this morning.
Paramedics and police rushed to the scene of the incident next to the Morrisons supermarket in Piershill after receiving an emergency call at about 10.15am.
Officers from Lothian and Borders Police said a female driver drove into a parked vehicle, causing her car to spin onto its roof and trapping her inside.
The woman, said by ambulance crews to be in her twenties, was pulled from the car and then complained of pain in her shoulder, which was checked by medics at the scene. Police officers said the woman’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Long tailbacks were also reported following the incident.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “A woman was pulled from one of the cars after the collision this morning. A double-crewed ambulance was sent and is still on scene.”
