Woman jailed for beating up friend

A WOMAN who battered her friend unconscious because she urinated on her couch has been jailed.

Jeanette Cairey, 42, had been on a week-long drinking binge when she launched the savage attack on Pauline Clark.

Cairey and Ms Clark, who were both heavily intoxicated, had been drinking with a group of friends at a house in Haddington when the violence erupted.

Cairey, who appeared from custody, was jailed for a year yesterday after admitting to assaulting Ms Clark on April 7.
