A YOUNG woman who was found dead on the side of a dual carriageway has been named by police.

Charlotte Louise Tennant, 20, from Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire, is believed to have been struck by a vehicle on the A90 near the town, where she was discovered at about 8am on
Saturday.

Grampian Police closed the road for more than nine hours while they investigated the death.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Dowall said yesterday: “We believe Charlotte was walking on the stretch of the A90 between Fordoun and
Laurencekirk between 4am and 5am on Saturday.

“I am grateful to the members of the public who have contacted us so far, and we have officers following up on those calls.

“I would, however, like to renew our appeal for anyone who may have seen Charlotte on this section of the A90 to contact us as soon as possible.”
