Woman denies drug swap to get boyfriend charged

A WOMAN has denied substituting a harmless “legal high” with a banned designer drug to get her boyfriend charged with drug dealing.

Lesley Anderson said there was no truth in defence allegations she had hatched the plot to get Graham Carroll’s money.

She told Livingston Sheriff Court she informed police he was allegedly selling Mephedrone because she was sick of what he was doing and wanted him out of her life.

Carroll, 46, of Livingston, West Lothian, denies being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs between April 16 and August 18, 2010.

David Norman, a friend of the couple, told the court he had heard them arguing fiercely. He said: “She told me she was going to ‘stick Graham in’ and give them all his money, which was in a tin.”

He said he was aware that Carroll had been selling products as “legal highs”. Asked when he stopped selling it, he said: “As far as I know, before it became illegal.”

The trial continues.
