Witnesses sought for car crashes
POLICE are seeking witnesses to separate road accidents where cars crashed into trees after leaving the road.
A 22-year-old man was cut free from wreckage by firefighters after the vehicle he was driving hit a tree next to the A766 Penicuik to Carlops, one mile south of Penicuik, Midlothian at around 2.50am yesterday.
Two male passengers were able to free themselves from the red MG ZR before an ambulance arrived.
The driver and a 25-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Meanwhile, police are appealing for information following a crash in North Berwick, East Lothian on Friday.
The crash happened around or before 9.30pm on an unclassified road leading to Blackdykes Farm Cottages.
He was also taken to the ERI.
