DOCTOR Who star John Barrowman and sister Carole E Barrowman dropped in to the Edinburgh Academy Junior School to promote their new co-written book Bone Quill.

They met twins Lewis and Jessica Parker, front, from Wardie Primary, Finn and Daisy Moll from the Academy and Charlie Holmes and Francesca Cranolles, back, both from St Mary’s Primary.

Bone Quill is the sequel to the siblings’ first fantasy novel for young people, Hollow Earth, and tells of the thrilling adventures of twins Matt and Emily Calder.

Glasgow-born Barrowman was recently hurt after falling off a pantomime horse.
